Abstract
In this talk, Barbara Fischer and Lynn Chiu will present their involvement in the newly funded INTERREG V-A Austria-Czech Republic project "GJ Mendel's Legacy for Science, Culture, and Humanity." After Lynn presents an overview of the project and the activities, collaborators, and teams on the Vienna side of the project, Barbara will deliver a short presentation of "Mendel's Vienna": the city of Vienna at the time when he was studying at University of Vienna and the faculty at the university that influenced his scientific background and orientation.
